To keep pace with the development of the raft of new products that it has introduced to the market in recent years, DiGiCo is in the process of upping its output capacity by adding a new Scottish production facility, twice the size of the existing facility.
DiGiCo has always been proud of its UK-centric operation and is pleased to announce the addition of the purpose-built electronics factory. Having been manufacturing in Scotland for 21 years, the facility is based in Glenrothes, close to Edinburgh.

With a steady stream of engineers wanting hands-on training on DiGiCo’s ever-growing range of digital consoles, the company is launching a monthly series of seminars at its Surrey headquarters. Training was previously given on an ‘as required’ basis, but demand is now so great that the company has decided to formalise the sessions and provide a monthly schedule.
“When we were making large format consoles, like the D1, D5 and SD7, the best way to provide the service was product-focused, individual training for a particular show or tour,” says James ‘JJ’ Lawford of DiGiCo UK sales. “However, because we now manufacture consoles in a range of sizes, which address several market sectors, we have found that a correspondingly greater range and number of people - including many freelancers - want training that is most appropriate for their needs.”

The international theatre market is proving increasingly successful for DiGiCo, with a number of major installation projects and productions currently underway. A recent sale and install of two xSD7T systems for Singapore's Esplanade lead to an interesting introduction.
“Late last year the Esplanade visited Europe on an extensive evaluation process. We arranged for them to discuss the DiGiCo possibilities with some European engineers and various British Sound Designers, including Andrew Bruce,” says the company’s Managing Director James Gordon. “Andrew really enjoyed his time with the Esplanade team and this instigated a conversation that lead to Andrew visiting Singapore to offer some first hand training on theatre design and DiGiCo consoles”
