DiGiCo announces the adoption of Audinate’s Dante™ digital networking solution and the launch of two new Dante implemented products at this year’s Prolight+Sound.
“The first, an eight channel I/O module for the SD-Rack, is something we believe the industry would expect from DiGiCo,” explains managing director James Gordon. “The module allows our users to drop audio on and off a Dante network for connection to system control, amplifiers and general audio networks.
“The second is a little more unexpected and comes from our Solutions Division in the shape of Dante DMI (DiGiCo Multichannel Interface) card.”

When the tech staff of Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church in Matthews, North Carolina was searching for the best digital console to replace an aging and inadequate mid-level analog desk, the worship facility’s missive was to secure a system that would meet all of their technical requirements yet include a logical and intuitive user interface, which would not intimidate its inexperienced, volunteer operators. Christ Covenant’s technical director, Jim Deal - also a veteran audio consultant in the area -took control of the project, specifying a DiGiCo SD8 system, coupled with a 56-input DigiRack. Hudson-Seymour, an integrator based in the Charlotte, North Carolina area specializing in house of worship installs, handled the installation.

When the analogue mixing console at Dundee Repertory Theatre was showing signs of old age, the theatre’s head of sound Colin Lowson realised that it was an opportunity to give the venue’s audio system a 21st century shot in the arm. With a DiGiCo SD8-24 now in place, the mix position is a happy place to be.
The theatre has an extremely varied programme, taking in plays, musicals, dance, live bands, comedians and corporate events, so a digital console was the ideal solution. The ability to recall various presets would be a particular time-saver for Colin, who is effectively the venue’s entire sound department. A console with the ability to vary the number of auxes and group outs was also highly desirable.
