Trinity Lutheran Church Updates Audio Technology To SD9

There have been a slew of house of worship installs in major metropolitan areas of the country utilizing SD8 and SD9 consoles of late, but DiGiCo consoles of any variety aren’t limited exclusively to the bright lights of the big city. In the small town of Stillwater, Minnesota - a dynamic, growing community of approximately 18,000 residents, just 20 miles east of downtown St. Paul - Trinity Lutheran Church is one of the newest owners of an SD9.

Making a concerted effort to replace old technology with up-to-date, state-of-the-art choices, Audio/Visual Director Jake McBroom selected the SD9 specifically after hearing demos of its SD8 sibling and based on recommendations from integrator, Audio Logic Systems - not to mention the specs, DiGiCo’s reputation, the console’s small footprint, the lack of necessity of outboard processing gear, and its ease of use.

DiGiCo SD9 Passes Conservative Conference With Flying Colours

As its first conference since David Cameron became Prime Minister, the 2010 Conservative Party Conference was of particular importance to the Party. Thus it proved the ultimate test so far for DiGiCo’s SD9 console - one which it passed with flying colours.

With the world’s media providing extensive coverage on radio, television, online and in the newspapers, it was vital that every word of every speech came across loud and clear to the hundreds of journalists, as well as the 2000 Party delegates in the hall itself.

Rain - A Tribute to The Beatles’ opened on Broadway in late October to rave reviews. Rain, a Beatles tribute band, which was formed in the ‘70s, has enjoyed several decades of touring triumphs around the globe. In 1977, ‘Beatlemania’ opened on Broadway and was the start for many future members of the tribute band. It ran for two years before breaking off into multiple companies, which toured concurrently until 1983. The Broadway debut of ‘Rain’ essentially brings things full circle.

At the audio helm of the Broadway debut is Abe Jacob, a world-renowned audio mixer/sound designer. Jacob’s involvement on ‘Rain’ is somewhat synchronistic, as he was the sound designer on the original ‘Beatlemania’ show some thirty years ago - and was part of the sound crew for the Beatles last concert at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park in 1966.
